Updates: Metadata, Sync, and WebSocket Improvements

April updates across the CoinAPI product line focused on improving metadata correctness, synchronization reliability, and real-time observability.

Changes span Market Data API, Flat Files API, Exchange Rates API, and WebSocket infrastructure.

A new connectivity status feed was added to the Market Data WebSocket API.

It provides real-time visibility into:

  • Exchange connectivity state
  • Heartbeat status

This allows clients to detect data interruptions, degraded connections, or exchange-level issues without relying on indirect signals.

Metadata handling was refined across multiple layers.

Key changes:

  • Improved raw_kvp and kvp_json processing to reduce stale metadata windows
  • Hardened KVP synchronization to prevent stalled updates
  • Enforced stricter data type consistency in KVP mapping
  • Improved handling of edge cases (duplicate records, oversized payloads)

Additional fixes:

  • Correct handling of special-character asset names
  • Support for long token identifiers without breaking sync processes

These changes improve symbol mapping consistency and overall metadata reliability.

Core synchronization logic was updated to improve stability and reduce unnecessary processing.

  • Future-dated records are now ignored during sync (no reprocessing loops)
  • Bulk metadata updates use safer chunked processing
  • Improved temporary-table handling during large updates
  • Increased resilience of sync jobs under high-load conditions

Several issues affecting API responses and data correctness were resolved:

  • Fixed cases where historical endpoints returned empty OHLC data
  • Improved request parameter handling for more consistent responses
  • Removed unresolved or delisted symbols from exchange-level metrics
  • Prevented early request failures during metadata service startup (cache warm-up phase)
  • Fixed missing 1-second (1SEC) data coverage in Snowflake view generation filters
  • Fixed handling of empty FX volume values for CENTRALBANKS data
  • Restored WAZIRX and BLOCKCHAINEXCHANGE integrations
  • Fixed Bybit streaming edge cases:
    • Missing symbols
    • Invalid funding time values

At API BRICKS, the goal is to make financial data usable in real-world systems - from trading infrastructure to AI models.

CoinAPI provides reliable market data across exchanges, with flexible delivery through REST, WebSocket, and flat files.

FinFeedAPI extends this into structured financial datasets, including prediction markets data designed for analytics, forecasting, and AI workflows.
